Dear leaders and colleagues, good morning!
Recently, I studied Kazuo Inamori’s
The Laws of Work while following two ongoing projects, and gained plenty of insights about work. I’d like to share my reflections and takeaways with everyone today. The book states that career growth comes from consistent dedication, constant reflection and continuous breakthroughs — a truth I deeply experienced through my project work.
Pre-Control Cockpit Project
In the Pre-Control Cockpit Project, I rested on my laurels right after completing initial product certification and stopped making further progress. With guidance from leaders, I stepped out of my fixed mindset and tapped into the project’s untapped potential. We successfully introduced certification for two new products, greatly boosting the project’s overall value.
This experience taught me that we all have limited vision, and we must avoid self-imposed boundaries and complacency when conducting business. When working on high-quality projects with valuable clients, we should promptly report progress to supervisors, and leverage the company platform and leaders’ broader perspectives to unlock incremental business opportunities, improving ourselves through real-world practice.
I also identified my personal strengths and weaknesses: I am reliable in technical communication and milestone control, yet lack proficiency in key account management and relationship cultivation. After learning from team members to deepen client connections, we obtained referrals from existing customers and expanded our client pool in Wuhan. This made me realize that professional expertise is merely the foundation; sound business skills and solid customer relationships are the lasting drivers of revenue growth.
The Second Project: The Power of Down-to-Earth Hard Work
The second project made me fully grasp the meaning of taking resolute action to overcome obstacles. At the project’s early stage, the company’s existing resources failed to meet the client’s requirements, bringing heavy hurdles to progress. Instead of giving up easily, our team collaborated closely, proactively screened channels, coordinated resources, optimized technical solutions and quotations. We eventually won the client’s recognition and pushed the project forward steadily.
This aligns perfectly with Inamori’s core philosophy: “Put in more effort than anyone else.” Hardship is never a dead end — surrender is. By drawing support from the team and taking initiative to tackle difficulties, we can turn challenges into opportunities.
Moving forward, I will uphold a pragmatic work ethic, break free from cognitive limitations, make up for my professional shortcomings, deepen client development, and maintain a resilient mindset amid obstacles. I will handle every task thoroughly and meticulously, pursue constant breakthroughs, and achieve steady personal growth.
